    New CCC in silver

    Just arrived today
Not very early but early CCC in silver. Very nice burnished and in a near mint condition I like it
This one is not vaulted as my very early bronce one with coke bottle pin.

How are yours with coke bottle pin - vaulted or not?

Sorry for these pics, no daylight and very difficult to take a photo from a burnished silver CCC

    Hello

A very nice and early silver CCC My 'coke bottle' pinned ones are vaulted, although one isn't as vaulted as the other.

      Thanks David
interesting to hear that yours are vaulted too, so it seems that S&L used a new die for them.

Nice silver CCC Rudiger, looks to have a nice finish to it, it can be hard to photograph silver and gold pieces, even in good light!!
        Good catch!!! -Nigel

Thanks Nigel, i´ll try to take better pics at the weekend.
Hope i can show the burnishing better

To the die...or isn´t it possible that they used the same die and the very early ones were vaulted by or with a press

            Hello

That could be, but my bronze CCC, which isn't quite as vaulted as my S&L silver one, is beileved to have been made by Deumer - see this thread:

and here for my silver one:

I'd guess they used the same die, and then some were vaulted, some not?? I wish we knew someone who worked at S & L or Deumer in the 50's or 60's
Your CCC should look stunning in the sunlight, if we get any!!sunny.gif

Very nice CCC Rudiger! The burnishing shows through very nicely in this pic. A daylight pic should SPARKLE!

All three of my Heeres CCC's are highly vaulted like the rockers on rocking chairs! It's very interesting that this one is not. Hard to imagine a vauted die and a non-vaulted die. If those existed, I think we would see more flat versions about. That makes your thought of a pressing process after die strike plausible.

Anyway, I like your new CCC!!!

It´s really quiet today here and so i think i can shameless bump up my old thread
New pics in daylight without flash but shiny silver items can be so difficult to photograph This is the best result i got and i think the burnishing is really good to see.....since i have this CCC i don´t need any light in my display The CCC is working well and is saving electricity
