Thanks, that is one of the 2 makers I had in mind.
But is that article in his book? If so I can't check because I never bought a book of militaria.

I respect other opinions because I am relatively new to these 57's.
But I still see characteristics wich I contribute to S&L.
I can be wrong. But Deschler surprises me because I see nothing I can attribute to Deschler.

Sorry Mike fro messing up your thread.

Oke, I made some pictures of the KvK models of DKis's wich are attributed to S&L because they are for me the first give aways.

Here it is compared with the stippling of your KvK.
It matches IMO perfectly, taken the fact that the picture is taken under a different angle and the dies of the models could have been modified.

From what I have seen sofar, I was of the opinion that they changed the wreath because the dies were worn out badly.

Here a picture of a DKis wich I considerd a modern S&L (not mine).

George, do you have Dietrich´s book? A collector friend told he saw exactly THIS pic in his book - could not really believe that
If yes - speaks for my photography skills
If not - wonder what he has seen

Before questions come out...i allowed Dietrich to take Photos which i sent to Peter - so it would be ok, of course.

Sorry Mike for putting my ugly DK in your thread but i longer wanted to know this.
And we have a little difference in our pieces - your plate under the hingeblock is a rond one, my plate not.
Or did he mean the second photo....is this in the book
Terrific pics of a truly beautiful cross Rudiger! Really very nice in every respect!

No need to apologize Luud! Discussion is GOOD! And this is a good topic! Like Rudiger, I simply want to know who made these lovely crosses.

Rudiger, yes, that group pic is the exact pic on the book. FYI - my DKiS and DKiG are also in there, too.

Luud, no books? IMO every militaria collector needs to have a good reference library. Why? I have an book dated '58 on 57's, and post WW2 awards, and guess what? One of the advertisements in the back is from Deschler, and again, it's dated '58.

                          Hey Geo,

Can you supply a few scans from the 57er book you mention? I'd love to see it.

                          Thanks,

                            Hello

Here are some better shots of the DKiS that I posted earlier. First the front shot. This has the red enamelled ring under the wreath.

                            Regards
                            David
