      I totally agree with Nigel.
The same very early clasp you already sold me (the die flaw is good to see) and someone destroyed it with this totally ugly stupid L/12 mark
      I CAN´T BELIEVE IT

The stamp is not the only thing what I don't like!

I think someone used it to pretend that it is a wartime clasp.

Found this one on a well known dealer site today .... very strange one. Seems some-one denazified a nice good looking 1957 RK . Why ????

I assume the maker is S&L, but anyone has a clue if 1st or 2nd pattern cross ?

Too bad about the damaged core, otherwise would have bought it .... . Cross marked with "800".

Definitely a 2nd Pattern core. There was a lot of resistance to wearing the new-form awards, as you all know, among many old soldiers. Many refused outright, and many others preferred to wear their wartime-issued examples denazified instead. Perhaps this man wanted to do the latter, but had lost his awarded example, so he de-nazzed a replacement piece. It's the explanation that makes most sense to me.
              Best regards,
              Streptile

Dont know if Trevors theory is right or wrong, i suppose we'll never know, but its a good explanation for something i've never seen before!!
And Trev's right, definitely a 2nd pattern, shame about the core, but if the price was right???? buy, buy, buy!!!!!!!!
Its certainly different!!good-vibes.gif I like it!!! -Nigel

Trevor´s theory sounds logic. The vets don´t looked at the frame or dates like us. They only saw the RK and that the RK winner "denazified" this one to make it an "original denazified RK", is believable for me.
This one is really heavily worn and has something i can´t explain, very interesting.
But as an attributed one this would be a very characterful piece, but without history it´s only a little bit worth. For a good price i would buy it.

The provenance is only the word of a Dealer. Maybe he can back it up, but I don't believe he can.
So I wouldn't pay an extra singe $ for it.

And for 350 euro I would expect an first pattern with the core intact.

                              Hello

You want a 1st pattern for €350!! Don't we all Seriously, I've not seen a 1st pattern one for under €500 for some time, certainly not in UK and certainly not on any private or dealers sales anywhere. If you can get first pattern new form RKs for €350 please let me know where from, because I'll have some.

                              Regards
                              David

                                They are out still there.
I bought this one 2 weeks ago for a little more than 350. It costed me 465 euro and still think that it is a lot for a new form RK.
