    I am not sure, but I don't like that 1957 P/O
But I would love to see the hardware of the badge.

It looks like a fake denazified FLL.
Here a picture of my badge wich IMO could have been the example of this P/O

      Hello

Luud, which one are referring to? Mine, Rudigers or Mathijs? I assume Mathjis as his doesn't show the reverse, but just in case here's a side on photo of mine, but as can be seen, the rear hardware is standard, mid production 57.

      Regards
      David

I know I am not always very clear , But I indeed meant the one Mathijs posted.
The one you and Rudiger posted are IMO very nice P/O's
Also interesting to see the differences between them.

The seller of the P/O that mathijs posted also has this regular Pilot Badge for sale.

Yeah, cast copies of de-Nazified wartime pieces and then you don't even get the piece pictured in the auction!

That guy oughta be in JAIL!

                Hi guys,

I've been thinking to start a new thread with " what items NOT to buy ". A sort of list of the most ugly & bad fakes out there.
Just for fun for us but also good for new collectors as to what to stay away from ... let me know if a good idea or not.

Let me start off with a " new form DKiS " .

In my opinion, some-one got a great deal on eBay ... 138.60 Euro . Looks to be a decent 2nd pattern ( 3-piece with magnetic core ).

I was actually bidding on it, but forgot to put in my reserve .

How to qualify this one ..... It looks like early S&L production with the "O" marking, it has the closed block hinge + S&L catch.

The only thing weird about it is that L/12 mark .

Shot of the pin .... What say ye .

                                1. Original & go for it
                                2. Original but enhanced with the L/12 mark
                                3. Nope, cleary a fake
