I just acquired this grouping which belonged to one man. Although I was told by the seller that the group belonged to the author of the accompanying book (he couldn't read German, I do), I am sure that the awards actually belonged to his brother (who is in the book too).
The book was privately published by a publisher who makes books for families which record their personal geneologies. The author of this book, an Oberst Wolf Joachim von Schweinitz (DKiG), published this edition on his 91st birthday in 1998. It covers 800 years of his families service to Christianity and Country. I also give an autobiography of both his and his brothers service both pre war, during the war, and post war. It ends with information on each current, living, family member up until that date.
There is a picture in this book of Oberst Georg v. Schweinitz while serving at the Pentagon wearing the medal bars pictured.
Who these awards, the book, etc., were given to, and how they arrived at my table are still yet a mystery, BUT!,............one I will resolve with some research.
Regards,
Chuck
