I know there must be some great CW era images in collections out there, if you care to post.
I was going to subtitle this thread "Are there beautiful women in CW pics?" like this one in the Photos and Paper Items forum http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ad.php?t=67101 but beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
I happen to have more images of civilians, than military, but please post your soldier images too.
First up - a sixth plate ambrotype in a leatherette case ("leatherette" is pressed paper over the wooden case frame; cheaper than real leather of course). Perhaps an ancestor of Kirsten Dunst? Probably dates to around 1855.
