This was found at an estate sale several years ago. Can any body help with interpretation? Thanks in advance.

That " can't see" is Land. Therefore, read with the second word "army".

The Army name ,as I believe, is pronounced as " Lee Woo ". I do not know anything about it. The front is written with Korean wordings which I do not know how to read.

From another source,
I have been informed that the numbers represent the Korean 'Dangi' calendar. Dangi (year) 1 is our 2334 BC. The date 4283.6.21 is the 21st of June 1950, just before the Korean War.

jcwater is correct, it is not Chinese at all it is the old style of Korean writing, wich is very similar to Chinese, that is what threw me too. I had another trans later send this to me.

The buckle was made to celebrate graduation from a military academy.

Dual pin...uniform style...military, web or leather belt with steel inserts.

Would only be given and worn by an officer. Never given to or worn by an enlisted soldier.

The front shield represents the military division this officer/soldier would have been a member of....still looking for this part....

Back translation (literal):

"Bo Byung Hakio" -- Working Soldier School (Infantry/General Soldier with Small Gun) ((small arms))

"Cho Dung" -- Beginner ..... "Gyun Sa Ban" -- Military Work Class

"Chol Yup" -- Graduation ..... "Gi-Nyun" -- Congratulation
