    Beijing Military Museum

Beijing Military Museum... Took these pics during a visit there last year. According to several signs most of the US/ UN armor and equipment was captured during the Korean War.

Jose - You are going to feel like I am stalking you. Thanks for the thread. The hummer was sold to a Chinese company back in 2009.
Somebody, after all, had to make a start. What we wrote and said is also believed by many others. They just don't dare express themselves as we did. Quote - Sophie Scholl - White Rose resistance group

Jose did those plaques give any details as to where the vehicles, etc., were captured? I wonder if the M19 AA track came from the east side of Changjin Reservoir....

They also have a couple of unit colors there.

This is great. I wish I had known about it when I was there. Is it located downtown? It's a must for the next time I go. Thanks for posting and making us aware!

That M-19 tracked vehicle (with the twin cannons) - if you go, maybe you could see if it says where it was captured (or any of the other pieces). I'd imagine some things may be from Chosin (Changjin) Reservoir. Also, any unit-specific things.

I don't remember the exact location but it's easy to get to as there is a metro stop practically in front of the museum. Admission was free, at least when I went there. The top floor of the museum displays ancient Chinese weapons and other old stuff, it's like watching the Discovery Channel.

Another interesting place to check out is the Panjiayuan Antique Market, also in Beijing. Open on Saturdays and Sundays, a lot of old and not so old militaria of all kinds can be found there. I saw some German M-35 helmets (used by Nationalist troops and Japanese helmets. I bought several AK-47 chest rigs there for the equivalent of US 2.50 each.

I don't recall if they had US helmets at the museum. Old uniforms yes, but I didn't take any pics of them. At the Panjiayuan Antique Market I saw lots of US helmets, canteen and other gear mixed in with Japanese helmets and gear. They had lots of old Chinese uniforms and gear as well.
