and how much did they have the KMT M35 helmets for?

The early PLA stuff are very rare from I have been told by a few Chinese collectors. So be careful when collecting.

I am guess the American tanks have been repainted? Even the dusty Japanese tank was repainted in the same color.

I don't remember exactly how much the helmets were being sold for but they were expensive (worth it I guess).

If it is found to be real, then yes definitely worth it to buy.

Chinese items (militaria or antiquities) from any era is a mine field... worse than German WWII items. Researching and knowing people will help a lot. Older Chinese coins is the worst thing to collect these days.. they are being made out of real silver (correct material and weight) and near perfect dies... now imagine what is going to be like with militaria in the next few years as they get better with the fakes.

            Museum renovations

I would like to let everyone know that I was at the Beijing Miltary Museum two weeks ago and it is going through a major renovation. One result of this is that all the armor and artillery pieces have been moved outside in front of the main building. This has made taking photos much easier and has allowed much easier access to the various artillery pieces which were hard to photograph when they were inside the side halls. The museum is closed on Mondays and is always free as long as you show your passport at the ticket booth. In my opinion...one if the best tourist deals in Beijing!

They are undertaking a massive expansion and renovation project which is expected to take about 3 years to finish.

time to time in either the DPRK or Peking Museums
