    When you get into the area of things such as ammo pouches, map cases, and so on, it is beyond my field of knowledge.

    But Larry Stewart is, in my opinion, a first class dealer with great knowledge, and I would trust his description of an item any time.

        I have done much researches upon the captioned ammo pouch. Luckily, I have come across this photo. The soldiers depicted are Chinese Qing Dynasty Troops. Notice the ammo pouches worn by them. They look very similar to the captioned ammo pouches. Unlike Japanese WWII ammo pouches, they lack the flaps which go through the tops of the pouches.

            Here is an interesting Chinese helmet

            Here are a few pictures of WWII era Chinese Nationalist "Plum Blossom" pattern helmets. It's similar to an early Japanese helmet or a french helmet. Do you ever see this variant in Hong kong? The liner is similar to a US WWI british pattern helmet.
