About 1980, I handled and fired a Soviet PPSH-41 as well as a 43 model, both legal. The owner was quite a character, spent his life as a pilot flying around South America, starting in the 30's. I always suspected he had something to do with a certain government company. He had lots of neat guns (I should have bought his Semmerling when I had the chance). When I asked him where he got the Russian guns, his answer was "Cuba". Naturally I was very curious, but I didn't want to pry.

Ok - the NFA transfer was approved and I have the gun, so here are a couple of photos.

Photo #4. Again, I would very much like to hear about any other Korean Conflict bring-back PPSH-41's.

Nice score! It could very well be a Korean bring back, thanks for posting!

Thanks for the great photos and congratulations on acquiring an outstanding, unique piece of history.

Where I live, some 68er police chief would have had that thrown into the ocean by now.

Absolutely gorgeous Ed. What did it and the pistol sell for?

                          Ed,

Yes - I would be interested in learning more about the history of the PPSH-41 you show. Is there any documentation of its history, other than the mounting board w/ brass plates? What is the NFRTR transfer history, i.e. when and how was the gun originally registered with BATFE? Does the NFA paperwork document anything about where the gun came from?

We test fired the PPSH-41 this past weekend. Here is a short video of a friend of mine firing a few bursts.
