Here is a bag of the first type of the Japanese army.

You can tell me what is the number "58" on the back and the inscription in Japanese. (Pics 5 and 6)

You need to take a better photo to show more contrast for the last Kanji or put a piece of paper on top and use a pencil to stroke on top

I can barely see a few strokes of the last kanji leading me to think the entire stamp is:

[*廣青年訓]
[~hiro Seinen Kun]

I googled 青年訓 (Youth Training) and found some hits using the same phrase. A book was published in 1920 called "Seinen Kun."

The stamping is too faint at the top to even guess at the first kanji.

We can read the kanji that you just rubbed -- it's the kanji at the top border of the brand, above 廣. Try rubbing at the top.

Right ... but the best logical choice is 訓. We need to find out what that lead-kanji is. I searched *廣 but came up with 10 pages where a word ends with 廣; so I was not able to narrow down any possible selections.

Guy, it appears to me that there are only two kanji, those you identified: 廣青.　The surrounding border may just have blank space at the top and bottom.
If so, that would probably be shorthand for 'Hiroshima Patriotic Youth Brigade.'

Probably only 3 Kanji ( white can be seen while yellow is guessing portion )

Perhaps you use a magnified glass to see whether the 3rd Kanji is like what shown in post #9.

Looking good at daylight, I see 3 kanjis.

The last one down is virtually erased. It looks very much like what you drew Chen.
