    Japanese Helmet

I´ve purchased this nice army helmet. Under the star there is a small paper label with kanji. Also in the inner-rim of the helmet. Could someone make a translation?

Please revise your thread title from "Jap." to Japanese.

      守本伍長
      Morimoto Gochō
      Corporal Morimoto

I can barely see the top portion of , but there's no doubt as to what it is.

Thankyou very much (also for your advise)
There are the names of two different soldiers at the helmet?

The jugular is still tied in the proper IJA way isn't it?

Maybe cutt off from a dead soldier ? It's not uncommon to find more than one name, it could have been issued more than one time. What is unusual IMO is the paper label under the star, at least it is the first time I show a name label on this place. We can only wonder why it's not on the inside. Looks period anyway. Nice helmet again.

                  Cheers,
                  Mathieu.
