      Nakano Kiyoharu

      Soldier's name:

      中野清晴
      Nakano Kiyoharu

      昭和十九年度簡閲點呼済
Shôwa jûkyu Nen-do Kanetsu tenko sai
1944's Military Roll Call Inspection Check

      About the roll call:
      簡閲点呼(かんえつてんこ)は、旧日本陸軍、海軍で、予備役、後備役の下士官、兵卒および第一補充兵を、参 会させ、短時間の試問応答によって在郷軍人の本務を査閲点検し教導することである。

Sloppy translation by Wiki-Trans; slightly corrected:
Kan'etsu roll call is the Imperial Japanese Army, Navy, Reserve, Rear Guard non-commissioned officer reserve duty, the initial recruit and private; the key role of veterans by brief examination for edification and inspection check.

Thank you for information! is it common for a paybook to have so little information. that stamp is the only thing in the paybook, nothing else wrote or stamped in it! thanks Brian

Content of the booklet depends on when the soldier was activated, how active his unit was, etc., although it does seem that these bare bones roll call stamped booklets are more common near the end of the war. I have examples in my collection that have several entries that span several years and cover multiple fronts, which can take up several pages.
