Japanese gas mask

Forum Members, This mask just ended on eBay.....Have to admit, I don't remember seeing one like this.....It has a larger diaphragm on the front and some sort of plug opening on the side.....I would guess the opening for some sort of microphone......I didn't bid as I figured it would be pricey.....Is it a marine mask and is it quite rare?....Bodes

This is the first time I have seen this model up for sale so wasnt surprised for what it sold for. The one in the link is a great complete example
