Japanese flag Help

How does this flag look. It is about 10"x13".. Any idea what it says?

It looks bad. Like random Japanese writing copied by a non-Japanese literate person.

To me it looks suspect. If its real kanji, I don't think it was written by a Japanese person. Just my thoughts, others will know better.

The characters are written in Traditional Chinese.

日軍用船 - Japanese Military use Ship

北華公司 - Northern China Company

Characters make sense, but a horrible flag.

sometimes these were hand made...the center seems hand stitched with red material...there also were printed versions I have found in vets estates....I don't see any problems with this one , it is just not of much importance......seems more of remembrance...or a home made souvenir...maybe the hankee was one of their napkins from the line ,turned into a souvenir...what did the people say you got it from?

I have not bought it yet. The gentleman that has it , picked it up from a collector. He believes it is real??? WW2 era..

The dealer that has it felt that it was Japanese. He thought it was the type of flag that would be tied to a rifle??
So if I understand correctly, you think this is a US vet made item to bring home from the Pacific as a souvenir..
