      In the Edo Period, the sword making industry moved from more remote locations to the populated areas such as Edo, Kyoto, Osaka, etc. This movement also caused a fusion of the styles of the five schools as swordsmiths compared techniques. The presence of muneyaki(temper along the spine of the blade)is a characteristic of Soshu work. I do not recall ever seeing a Mino blade with this feature.
