                          The Jacket stamps:

                          1. Top oval: 三 式 Model 3

                          2. Large Square
                          a. Size: Medium
                          b. Manufacture Date: 昭和十 Showa 19 Year [it's faded, but I think that's a 9] -- 1944

                          3. Bottom square: I think this is the manufacturer's mark? The last kanji is which has to do with being stored or put away. I thought the first two kanji were 日本 Nippon ... but that doesn't look right when I squint my eyes real hard, like.
                          4. Circle within a square: [(東)] Higashi -- inspector's name [which means "East"].

                          ---------
Pencil mark: Maru (circle) ... which has been written so that the second stroke comes full-circle. The second definition in the on-line dictionary I use defines: "...(2) entirety; whole; full; complete..." So perhaps the seamstress or inspector penciled that in to say the item is complete.

                          Cheers!

                            You are a great friend!

I will add this informations in my blog and in the future in the museum.

                            Best regards,

                              Hi Ricardo,

I'd recommend you wait until Nick Komiya makes the corrections! Just think of my information (sometimes MISINFORMATION) as a filler. It will give you a fuzzy idea, but nothing clear and sharp.

I've not studied Japanese for over 25 years and I've learned but a little and have forgotten much! Too many "meaning errors."

                              Cheers!
