    Japanese machine gun parts?

    Hi All,

Today I bought a partial parts set for a Japanese machine gun. The reviver has been cut up and it is missing the barrel. I have never seen one like this before. It has 161 in kanji on the front portion of the cut receiver. There is also the serial number. Is there such a machine gun, a type 161?

    Thanks in advance,

      Hi NLF,

I don't think its a 99. Here are some photos of it.

This looks like a trainer that's been cut up.

Bill hello; does it look similar to this one? I asked about a parts set I picked up at an estate sale a number of years ago. Looks close...hope this helps

                Need some help please....
What would the main differences be between a trainer, and a combat piece? I've seen pictures of other
99s, and they seem to have the receivers enclosed. Bills' is an open receiver.
                Are all trainers non firing?

                Thanks
                Dave
