I don't know about where you live, but in Pennsylvania we don't have too many Hitler Youth girls selling sandwiches.

A happy surprise was that our tables were behind the sandwich selling HJ girls. I did not dress up but was still able to do a pretty good impersonation of a chubby balding middle-aged American - I've been working on it for the last 52 years.

About the quality of material available, yes we buy quite a number of more common items - I for one am thrilled to walk into a flea market and find untouched, real, WWII Japanese mlitaria that can be bought for a decent price. We shipped what we bought today to a friend in Osaka to repack and send home - so I didn't snap a picture. My list from the show includes; 1 ceramic mine, shelter half, 2 mint tube packs, army correspondent armband, 4 pair army white gloves, 11 khaki covers for navy flat hats, canvas pack for army waterbourne troops, 2 green navy jackets , 3 navy canteens, navy work jumper, 3 bread bags, 2 pr army cotton trousers, summer officer's tunic, wool officer's tunic, 1000 stitch belt, green navy pea coat, blue navy pea coat, officer's leather backpack, 2 officer's leather map cases, blue navy sea bag, officer's canteen and quite a few interesting home front items ( I don't see too many of them in Pa) such as armbands, paper flags, patriotic dishes etc. Anything really rare on that list? I don't think so, but I was happy just the same.

Interesting photos!

It seems from the pics. that there were a lot of post war/surplus uniforms and airsoft related material for sale/on display. Did this kind of material far outweigh pre/WW2 era items or were there plenty of dealers selling Japanese pre/WW2 era antiques at the show?

Hey Dean-
When you said you were looking to make connections, did you mean the girl in post #36? Holy Cow!!! She's beautiful. Please tell me you found out she really lives in NJ and that she's agreed to have your children................. I don't see too much in the way of Martha's favorite textiles being described here. Were they few and far between? MikeB
