    Small Japanese grouping found

Hello, I was able to get this varied grouping from the son of the late USMC VEt. WW2-Korea. The son couldnt really give me much info. Here are pics of the insignia. Bill bourque

While I can identfy all German rank, Japanese army/navy is more difficult. The single tab with the series of stars I cant identfy. Bill

I believe the Officer star is Japanese, or USN. Bill

The insignia with multiple stars is for civilian workers contracted to the army. The maroon insignia is a type 5 collar flash and the mum doesn't belong on it. Sorry but I'm pretty sure the large red "M" is a repro as well as the white navy rate. Not sure on the star .Collar rank tabs and shoulder boards look good.

Hello Dean, thanks for your help. I kind of thought the white disc looked abit fresh. Best, Bill

I thought the Cherry blossom badge was used on the type 5 collar for manchuria. theres definatly a picture of it alongside the other collar badges that were worn on the type 5 in Nakatas book.

Yes your right - but they were gold not silver. This mum is the kind used on navy shoulderboards. I'll post some photos of the army mum later.
