my last post was referring to the helmet cover, didn't see your cap photo. Regarding the cap, that's an interesting insignia on there. Whats the side view, chinstrap buttons, back, and interior look like? Pics?

Regarding interior helmet cover photo. I think I see two stitch knots? If so that's not a good sign. That leather star on your cap looks like an army flight cap star!? Does the star stitching go through liner? That's a very strange cap! It appears to be an officers (or civilian) model. Never seen buttons with stitch holes used as chinstrap buttons. Also the havelock clips are weird too. Field caps, both enlisted & officers, usually only have sewn stitch loops for havelock attachment. Any interior stamps or markings? Could be a played with late civilian cap or?

Hi Jareth no markings at all to be seen ,on the plus side I bought the cap in 1980/81 as for the helmet I cant face the thought of it not being accepted (if you know what I mean) the seller is a nice guy and quite understanding therefore I think I am going to have to give it a miss ,regards Rob
