Okay guys...
I had to come out an say it.
Folks that tend to collect Japanese stuff... just aren't as "interesting" as those guys who collect German/Nazi items.
Take the helmet below... Another Japanese Navy paratrooper.

No discussions, complaints, comments of any kind... but... we all know it's up on E-Bay. Nobody wants to tip their hand... and just pretend it's not there!
But... when it comes to German items... there are plenty of discussions on the unique pieces when they pop up.
I find Japanese swords locally from time to time. But... none of the Japanese sword collectors ever tell me the truth about a sword.
It's always: "It's a common war time sword made of captured Chinese rail road steel" and "not worth much, maybe a few hundred dollars."
These are the same folks that don't place price tags on their items at shows!!
I give it to a friend to sell for me... and it's worth a $1000, and over 150 years old?
What's the big mystery with you guys??
Sure... knowledge is power... but... heck... it's like pulling teeth sometimes to get an honest answer. You have these clicks/circles that you follow.
On the Japanese navy para helmet... I can see under the sellers question and answer section that Jareth already got under the seller's skin... and must have called the helmet a "fake." LOL
I don't like the badge, or chin straps... Anything else I am missing? The paint bothers me too.
Thanks...
I am joking to an extent... but... there is a little bit of truth in every joke.
