If anyone buys this flag believing that it is a war time flag and full of war slogans as the description will lead you to think, you are actually buying a flag dated August 29th 1945 and the slogan is "wishing for friendship between the United States, United Kigdom and Japan" " Celebrating the end of the Great East Asia War". It was done in Okinawa. This flag was on E-stand as an old, old PRE-WW2 flag before, at which time I sent a PM to the seller explaining what it really was. In reply, I was told that I was full of ---. I ignored the insult, as the item was at least removed from sale. However, now that it is being put on sale again with another misleading description, despite my red flag, I feel obliged to warn prospective buyers. Perhaps the seller has chosen not to believe me, so it would help if colleagues can corroborate the points I make here.
Having said that, I personally think this is a nice original flag celebrating the end of the war, and 0kinawa certainly adds to the appeal. It is just the misrepresentation that I object to.

Candidly Nick, your p.m. never said anything about this being a post war flag. Rather, you stated it was a later war flag - and not a pre war flag dating from China - as another had person interpreted the kanji to mean.

As to value, I was originally asking $225. You stated $150 was a more appropriate value. Anyway, you may interpret both the kanji and/or the value anyway you wish. But the price is now a mere $140 - plus post AND I've deleted the "pre-war China" kanji interpretation I received from someone else AND I've amended that listing accordingly.

No offense to DAK or anyone on this forum, but my take on the Kanji is same as Nick's. The flag is full of names and poems and such but the relevant writings are as follows.

In addition to the translated contents, it seems to be that almost if not all the signers are women. You can almost feel from this flag the prayers for peace from the women folk of Okinawa, who had a tragic experience of battle in their homes, in addition to all the men folk dying. This is a very special flag.
