Thank you sir! I also like the Landwehr Kavallerie very much, it's one of my favorites.
The jacket on the right is also an Off. Thüringes Ulanenregt. Nr 6. I have this for about 20 years and it was great to find this complete uniform from the same regiment in the beginning of this year. The Landwehr Kavallerie and the Sud West Afrika I have for several years already.

Primarily the lack of lower pockets/flaps and the waist seam. The colonial tunic also has these characteristics but I am assuming that it is actually a pre 1907/10 model tunic.

Excellent stuff Kemmelberg - so you did not get that beautiful Saxon M7 at the last Baldwin auction?

The Ulanka is particularly interesting too me in that it appears to be a 1916 pattern future peacetime tunic that was period adapted to field service use by removal of colored facings, button and insignia changes. I’ve seen this done before and also a few examples that went the other way by adding facings and smooth buttons to service style tunics.
It has the private maker's label , owner's name, regiment and 1916 date on the inside.

I think that it could have been made in this configuration without the facings and smooth buttons . I’m not sure that even if facings were removed to expose the feldgrau underneath if it was made that way or if the collar and cuffs were replaced during the war that one would be able to tell now. It was clearly made on the 1916 cut regulations.

I think it is a very nice Ulanka and for certain one worn for field or at least service duties.

                        I’m partial to this tunic.

Good to see those Bavarian uniforms again after missing out on them in the Baldwin auction. Wonderful additions!
