BEST IMPERIAL UNIFORM and/or HEADGEAR addition to your collection in 2018

    Hi Guys,

It is that time of the year again. 2018 was a good collecting year for me as I added quite a bit to the collection. These two are my favourites of 2018. Please post yours!

    Cheers, Tom

P.S. Can not find the pics at this time and need to go out. Will post pics later.

My South West Afrika Schutztruppen tunic by far best 2018 Imperial acquisition. Unfortunately I most likely will never find an original Südwester Slouch Hat to complete the set, but who knows.

That’s very nice! My Schutztruppe is on my way back to me. I had sent it off to consignment and then I thought to myself I must be friggen nuts. When the hell will I ever see another. Will post pics when I get it back.

But borrowed pic will do for now 😊

After a bit of delay … 1st Bavarian Jaeger NCO field tunic (previously in the Michael Baldwin collection)

Excellent tunics - Schutztruppe and Uhlan.

@Nutmeg - Where did you find that Uhlan tunic?

Fantastic! The Germans made some seriously great uniforms in WW1 and 2

All of the tunics posted are very nice.

The Ulanka is particularly interesting too me in that it appears to be a 1916 pattern future peacetime tunic that was period adapted to field service use by removal of colored facings, button and insignia changes. I’ve seen this done before and also a few examples that went the other way by adding facings and smooth buttons to service style tunics.

Interesting observation. On what basis do you conclude that this was formerly a Friedensrock? Thanks.

                            Very nice uniforms gentlemen!
Here's my best purchase of 2018: a complete uniform of an Off. Thüringes Ulanenregt. Nr 6.
The jacket on the right is from the same Regt. but not from the same person...

Excellent as always! Although I am very much enamoured with Uhlan uniforms, in this case I prefer your Landwehr Kavallerie uniform (LW Kav is IMO one of the nicest Imperial uniforms) and that lovely one on the right. To which regiment belongs that stunning one on the right?
