    What state is this cockade ?

    Anyone know looks like red and then yellow ? any ideas on the helmet plate ? looks like a Guarde star ? thanks Rob

      It seems to be Red, Yellow (Gold), Black which are the state colours for the Principality of Waldeck-Pyrmont.

        The helmet looks like a Mod 1871 German Pickelhaube.

        Großherzoglich Mecklenburgisches Grenadier-Regiment. Nr.89 - II. Bataillon ?

        The cockade is perhaps Mecklenburg-Strelitz (repainted). Does the color under the red look dark blue?

        The star would fit too

          Thank you Chaps yes its Red Yellow (Gold) black and is a 1871 helmet so now I need the helmet plate ! fat chance lol. Rob
