          Thanks again for the compliments. Yes - it would be hard to beat a matched pair of boxes like these but there's a guy on German Ebay who has been listing a pair that's pretty damned close. He's been asking $390 Euros. As for the trousers - nope - no trousers in my collection. I had a "minty" pair a number of years back that were presented as the real thing but then an exam with a blacklight and they lit up like a Christmas tree. Major bummer

            Not to steal the thunder of this thread (I actually could not do better than Brian has), but since the topic of trousers was brought up, I thought I would show three of my four pairs.

            The first pair is dated 1913, marked "B.A.I" and is in the original feldgrau wool. The second pair is in steingrau wool and has a manufacturer stamp only. It has the post-1914 modifications. These two pair are the so-called Tuchhose. The third pair are Stiefelhose, marked "B.A.XIII 1917" and are without side-seam piping. The fourth pair I have (not shown) are Reithosen (think breeches) and are marked to Ulanen Rgt.Nr.4.

              Congratulations 120 Rir.....

              Very beautiful display, with quality parts, a magnificent bust.
              The jacket had to be of the Hessian Leibgarde Regiment 115 before passing in the Leibinfanterie regiment 117 because it seems to me that the jacket of 117 does not wear litzens and is a normal jacket.
              Below my model machine gunner of 115 in 1916, battle of Verdun.......







              Here is my underoffizier mannequin of the 115 LGR but with a jacket dated 1915, the litzens are grey for the collar and disapear on the arms...

                How does the collar litzen above compare in length and width to WWII collar litzen? Just curious?

                  For the grey litzen, they are very similar in the size, on the other hand colors are different......
