I am not sure who to talk to since I was banned by an admin. I don't think the admin was the sole person involved though. I think it was suggested in the moderaor forum by who knows. Don hates me enough to have suggested it but I may be wrong about the whole deal. Just a gut feeling.

After 3-6 months ask Admin again, you won't know if you don't try.

DOES it work like that? I think they hated me because I spoke out about Federal Law enforcement abuses. Never made a topic about it just commented on stuff that was posted and related.

Will you please use the pm function for forum woes. I don't spend 2hrs fumbling with me blooming camera to help or not the collecting community and finish having to read this personal drivel.
I am happy the seller has been the perfect gentlemen, maybe members here will discuss this 'type' of camo another time on another example. I hope so.

                Thank you
                Eric

That be neat if the seller could comment on this helmet here as to why it should be good? Or Hoss you have emails from seller you like to post?

I mean he now might have an expensive dud. What if he tries to pass it off to a rookie collector? I sure wouldn't want that to happen. I know dealers that will sell fake items and take it back and re-sell it again until it doesn't come back.

My PM's are full. It causes me pause to re up with the limited account I thought this topic had run it's course so did not think being off topic would be a big deal sorry.

I doubt he's a member in the end its about individual choice forums are not potential artifact guillotines imo they must remain discussion groups with a fact based knowledge platform, if they were kiss of death period some members would pull images.

A very entertaining thread, indeed. For someone that is eager to trash other people's helmets, particularly authentic WW2 camos, helmet covers, etc., that have been vetted by experienced, knowledgeable (and intelligent) collectors, it is interesting that the person that started this thread cannot comprehend the obvious fact that a helmet he had in HAND was a fake. All the clues were there.

Hey! Get back to the WWII helmet forum your trespassing!!

About that helmet I know how it is to WANT a helmet to be good. If I really want a helmet to be good but it gets bad comments from my friends her, as a last resort I'd have the paint tested.

If the artist had painted that on a good field gray helmet I think it would have fooled me at least and made everyone think a lot harder on it before they could come to an opinion.

Eric, i think you got extremely lucky that this helmet's paint rubbed off or flaked to the bare metal during shipping, and that as a consequence you started asking opinions about its restoration here. i will agree with others that this camo is a very clever fake, and the bare metal rub down is indisputable proof of a helmet once stripped to bare metal and then "camoed" to fool. 100 year old baked on paint just doesn't flake off to bare metal, no matter how hard it's rubbed unless it was intentionally done, with lots of elbow grease or sandblasting. the camo paint doesn't look yesterday-fresh but there is no patina to it and that brown paint around the air vents just screams "i'm only covering the bare metal underneath!". this forum is a God-sent to us all
