I totally agree, he should be brought back to the WA forum to explain his side of the story & given one last chance at least, all we are hearing is a one sided story from the WW2 helmet guys.

would also like to see Hoss back, as well as Brian Ice, if you remember.

one thing i always keep in mind is that it takes two to tango and exercising my self control and discipline is my utmost duty, in person and on the internet.

I've said enough. I self-edited as I realized it doesn't help for me to say anymore. Clearly there are two strong, opposing views on this matter. I won't intrude anymore. This keeps rolling up to the top of my Tapatalk conversations. I wouldn't normally monitor this thread or forum. Have a nice Sunday, folks!

You also said the offending posts were removed in the WWII helmet forum so that we cannot even take a look for ourselves.

Smells like the politics of personal disputes and a cover up. It must have burned someone's hide that Hoss was brought back from the first expulsion and I might guess has something to do with the situation going back to that.

As someone who collects both Imperial and TR lids and is also active on both WAF helmet forums, I have seen Hoss's comments and find the vast majority absolutely ridiculous, to him obvious bad helmets are good and obvious good are bad.

Do we need this crap on the forum, in all honesty?

Well it's already here aint it? This was all on topic about Eric's helmet till someone popped in I've never seen here before and posted about Eric in what can only be a Stick it to him, gottcha type of attitude. I mean how else do you want the imperial Community here to take it?

If someone has a valid reason Eric's been banned then post the offending message here so we can take a look. Or PM it.

In the past I have shared many a bad helmet with Eric and posted them here on this forum only to be told time after time by Eric that he was not going to say anything bad about the helmets because even if the Ebay seller was not a member here he still would catch flak for voicing valid opinions and even when everyone else concurred. So his behavior as related on the WWII Helmet forum is a little shocking to say the least and very out of character.

All the clues were there.
                      Hello Scott,

You are absolutely correct... when it comes to the JB Helmet Forum, but, why in the hell would you bring THIS thread up? And, what does it have to do with Eric's ranting on the JB Helmet Forum? None of us Imperial Uniforms and Headgear Forum contributors went to Admin to have his ass kick off the WAF because of his comments and denial of this post war painted WWI camo helmet discussed here. If he is bringing down the JB Helmet Forum then block him from it! Bottom line... Eric might be an ass to you guys, but he is an asset here. Let's stop all the child play and get on with collecting.

                      Best Regards,

                      Chuck

Chuck, Since you ask me directly I will respond. I was sick and tired of him sniping at legitimate helmets with his harebrained comments. Understanding that folks over here on the Imperial forum think he is such a great and knowledgable guy, I decided to investigate and try to understand why. The first thread I looked at is this one. When I see that his friends are telling him he has a bad helmet he refuses to believe them and has the same all knowing attitude that he has displayed on the JB forum and over on GHW. So I couldn't resist making my comment.

Frankly I find it astounding that people are telling me and others that we cannot participate on other parts of WAF. People from this forum have posted on the JB and other community forums lamenting the demise of Hoss. No one is telling them to go back to their forums or to shut up as far as I know.

To me, such an attitude is childish. I have stated my problem with Hoss very clearly. The mods apparently agreed. It wasn't one comment, but the general pattern of antagonism, ignorance and arrogance that did him in. I am certainly not alone in this assessment. He has no one to blame but himself. He was banned once, got reinstated, then ramped things up and got banned again. On GHW he created quite a stir and was clamped down on hard. He is still there and is behaving. So he knows better, but chose to attack or question legit items in a way that was both boorish and disrespectful. stirring the pot, trying to elicit negative reactions, acting like a troll. How he could be considered a resource is beyond me, but if many members here feel so then I have to respect that. Clearly he has considerable knowledge on Imperial items. His posts here seem easier to understand and follow. Seems like a different person than I have seen on the other forums.

He seemed completely unable to learn or listen to other perspectives on the JB forum. That was also evidenced in this thread, so I chose to state it aloud as I as getting quite exasperated with him. I did not know he was going to be banned. I had rather given up hope that anything was going to be done, as he clearly acted like he was protected and could say whatever he wanted with impunity. The JB helmet forum seems to be reviving now after a period when the peanut gallery seemed to rule and serious collectors had gone underground or left because they were sick of seeing threads go downhill once he jumped in to derail good conversations with his categorical and often unintelligible comments. As I said before, he never showed us anything, but commented tirelessly in manner that indicated limited knowledge and experience and no desire to learn for others. Telling people that really know there stuff that they must be drunk or something if he disagreed with them. His attempt at a joke, no doubt, but people don't laugh when their investments are being scoffed at by someone who can't back up his claims with even the simplest logical explanations or straightforward analysis that made any sense.

I started posting some of my helmets and he started making a run at them and me in a way that made him look stupid. I resisted commenting on those threads but came over here as stated to confront him on his home turf. If he had stuck to what he knew he would still be here, I'm sure.

Anyway, don't blame me for him getting banned. I didn't get him banned. He did that all by himself.

Yes, I agree, Chuck, let's drop this now and get back to the positive aspects of collecting!

                        Best regards,

                        Scott

                          Scott,

Who told you cannot participate on this Forum, or any other. I don't blame you or anybody else for Eric's behavior or expulsion. Eric can stand up and be accountable for himself... just like you or I. I had a talk with Eric three days before he was expelled and did read his posts on the JB Helmet Forum afterwards, and, he did tone it down.

Sorry to see you guys reached the end of the rope and had to discard him this way.

If there is a moderator for this forum how about closing this now useless thread as it has nothing to do with discussing the helmet originally posted.

                          Have a good evening.

                          Chuck

No one said you guys can't come over here and use this forum. By all means if you score a WWI helmet or gear bring it on over.

This forum has needed no moderation for a period of years and I am sure I speak for all when I say we'd like to keep it that way. Peaceful. That was the correct context of my comments on the matter.

I just got a loot at the Helmet Hoss was banned over or the helmet in question.

Looking at it, I don't know what to say other then someone was banned for questioning that thing? Are you kidding me?

I know next to nothing about WWII Helmets. I own a few but the decals boggle my mind. But as a WWI German Helmet collector I know a few things about age. The helmet in question, I am not going to say is good or band but I can say that totally un issued helmets don't look this good. And to ban anyone for questioning it is out of line. Way out of line. I had a refurbished SS helmet once I added my own decal to. Had the same look as this helmet decal so far as the shinny coat that surrounds the decal. Good or bad I don't know but I think anyone with any experience would be right to at least question it.

Man oh man, will you give it a rest, this was likely only the straw that broke the camels back on that forum, why don't you read all the stupid posts he made on that forum.........

                                let it go.
