Nice examples! Are there any makers besides Karl Barth and L. Estelmann? Who is the manufacturer on the other three leather ones?

    Thanks,

The left side sanitater is marked H Rohrbeck MFG 1914.
The right side krankentrager pouch is marked Bach and Riedel Berlin 1915.
The left side krankentrager pouch (leather and paper cloth) are both Karl Barth 1917.
      The Estelmann is 1917 also.

So that's four makers out of five pouches.

        RH,

Thanks for the info. Barth made the majority of these, but there were plenty of other makers. I think the "NFG" on the Rohrbeck box stands for Nachfolger.

Very pleasant and informative thread. Revisiting another thread where I posted this one ages ago, here's a (bad) scan of a photo of two german Feldlazarett personnels and a cloth Ausweis.

The Ausweis also depicts the wear of the "neutrality insignas on the left arm" .../... "a red cross on a white background". It actually belonged to the man on the left on the photo.

IMHO white painting (or cloth straps basket) has been done to indicate this individual as medic- other form quite large group does not paited their's lids.

FANTASTIC THREAD GENTS! KEEP IT COMING!

Note the two medics with the Armbinde.

Now my question: Is the one sitting wearing a helmet cover to identify him as a medic?

Hehe, anyone see this for sale:

                  http://www.ebay.com/itm/251228531107...84.m1423.l2649

Considering what it is and where its from, what would you say the chances of being real are, one in a million?

Variation on a theme I bought a Latty job few years back just to check it out and concluded they are not German W1, the material and thread used does not match anything period imo. They don't match winter snow attire clothing either I'm open minded on covers but these....no can't even be considered 'Ladies club for the Front'. Also the clips don't fit properly over a helm rim they do make great event covers at a low price.
