Oh ya I added the liner cord just to give the pads some support so they don't hang down and degrade.

A very nice example of a helmet that is still lacking in my collection. Congratulations William, and thanks for sharing pics with us!

That is a nice one, great that it has the chin strap too.

The helmet looks fine at first glance, but I can't get a good impression of the chinstrap from the pictures. Also, do you know if the liner is original to the helmet? It looks like a loose fit in some of the pictures. The chinstrap is rough side out, which is good, but the leather looks very dark, almost black. Has it been heavily oiled at some point? If you could, I'd like to see some clearer pictures of the strap, especially both sides of the rivets on the keeper end.

Let's keep Eric waiting a bit more

Sorry William, but imo the chinstrap is a reproduction as Hans already doubted... The color is dark indeed, but the red lights are that it's to thick and has wrong stitching. Also the metal parts look as they were never zinc coated...
The shell looks fine, but better pics are nessecary to determine if the liner is original to the shell...
Here you have a few old (a bit crappy) pics of an original for comparison...
Hope this can help you out...

                              William,

Is this another test? I'm with Hans and Adler on this one.
