Very nice m17 pattern mask its not an '18 member Hans may confirm. The boots aren't W1 imo more of the style worn by some countries through into the '50's.

      Hoss,

He just mentioned it was dated 1918, not a model 1918.

I agree that the boots are not likely to be WWI. The tops really flare out more than the shaft on a WWI boot and the toes are not tapered to the front sole.

        Hello guys,

I need a quick opinion on the following pair of boots.

        Are these any good?

        Thanks a lot in advance!

        Floris

PS: will be posting some new stuff shortly!

They have the same pull straps on the inside as mine. I can't bless them as good but it's looking good so far.

            Hello
I like them but difficult to say definite W1 without stamps, I have a similar pr in my collection, pity there is no hobnails but like the heel and foot shape.
Its very hard to determine when they changed the 'fashion' of this style of German boot, for me anyway.
Don't pay too much they are out there without markings, German W1 'style' would probably be more accurate, if they had leather pulls it would raise the bar a little imo.
I'd be interested in what Chip thinks of course.

            Cheers

              Thanks for your opinion!

It's like this is the only piece of WW1 militaria where no one can put his finger
              on.

I know the M1966 are more recognizable because the front piece of leather
runs from the toe to the top of the shaft, whereas here it's in 2 pieces, like
              the Reichswehr boots.

Well I didn't pay too much for them, so that's a good thing. I'll give them a good
clean when they arrive and then perhaps I'll find some markings.

Also curious what Chip thinks. Until now 3 people said they liked them so I'm
              keeping my fingers crossed!

Just one more questions, what do you mean with leather pull tabs?

Would this make them 100% WW1 boots? Until when did they use these in boots?

The pull on tabs (Kraus) not sure on the date some say mid '20's others into '30's.

                        Thanks Eric!

Well they are almost identical if you look at the construction and they
certainly have the 100-years of age look.

Where should they be marked normally? Would this be with a date or ...?

With the addition of a Prussian Great coat it is back on the front burner.

Any thoughts on this ammo bandoleer?

If original, would be cool to add to my future WW1 soldier for a combat look!

Turkish surplus bandoleers filled with Ammo are still being sold. It would be better then a repro till you found one I suppose.
