    Adler,

Im sure he would ask a lot. I really like the camo patern itself, just not sure how well the inside will clean up. Matt

If that helmet was complete and on ebay it might fetch 2 grand when some bidders fall in love with the camo pattern.

700 is a tad high, I might be willing to pay it when I have extra cash and if it had the original liner pins with it.

              Hello
The green has been recently touched up. The grey is fake. The original paint is still visible underneath. It probably could be removed easily enough may we see a closeup of the yellow/ochre?
Dont be downhearted Matt. It could be a great lid. Welcome to WW1 Helmets.

                Matt,

You're already off to a good start.

Here's the bottom line on this shell. Most of the paint appears to be good. Better pictures, or an in hands inspection is required. The liner pins are not original, and the inside of the shell is damaged. After reading Eric's comments about the touch up he might be right. That would make sense if it was a theatrical prop. I'll throw this out there...If it was a one looker it would be sold by now. Be patient, good original unmolested WWI German camo's are out there.

                Chuck

I appreciate all comments guys. This is a whole new field for me to start to stick my toes into, I think it could be a great field but its requires a whole lot of catch up reading and reviewing for me and I am up to the challenge. Like anything great it just takes time for the nice ones to come up and its all about timeing. I am in no rush and I won't be adding this one to the collection. Was offered it for 650 but with touched up paint its a no go for me. Thanks for all the information guys, its truely appreciated. Matt

Yep Eric is right! The green panel that has the M91 lug ball on the outside is clearly painted over. I'd say it's a 400 dollar shell at most.
