Is the paint good on this camo?

Hey guys imperial german stuff isn't my thing though I do keep finding my self a bit more attracted to it as time goes on and TR prices soar. I have always loved the ww1 camos and find them to be quite attractive, which brings me to posting this helmet. I know the rivits are reproductions that had paint professionally matched to be as close as possible to the color of the helmet. I am ok with that, I need to know if the camo is legit period done. I know you guys are hellishly good at determining these things and would like to hear all and any opinions. Asking price is a bit steep for one with out liner but I do like the helmet. Let me know what you guys think. Matt

helmet has glue like material left on the inside, so perhaps used as a theater prop after the war? No liner and not sure on size. I wanna say the paint is good but as I stated I am not that learned in ww1 german camo. Matt

Close ups of the vent lugs and any photos showing the liner holes minus the repro WWII pins if possible. From the photos so far I see nothing that suggests it's a fake but the pattern is sort of razzle dazzle and I've seen some fakes with this type of jagged patterns.

Was that helmet ever on Ebay? Is the Seller M16 Camo?

I once bid on a helmet that might have been this one on ebay and ebayer M16 Camo won it. Was just wondering if the seller in in state of Illinois?

I am wary of the helmet but only because I like it so much.

              Matt,

IMO the shell is priced too high, but the camo looks good. I'm not sure sure the inside can be repaired so this will bring the value down also. Looks like a "duck bill."

I did not see any price but very nice pattern but a shell is only worth so much. No one should be asking more then 550.00 for it and with the economy I probably would let it pass unless it was 450 or less.

Sellers are free to ask whatever they want for their goods. Whether they sell or not is their business. The economy may suck, but camo shells this nice are still averaging around $600.00, and, will increase in value.

I think it looks too nice for a 100 year old paint job to be original. Was there paint under the rivets or no paint ?

Top end for a camo shell should include the original camo pins. It's a nice pattern for sure.

Good or bad? I am not for sure. There is something I don't like about the black lines but that don't mean anything. Some helmets just need an in hand inspection.

Judging by these pictures, I think it looks alright. The shell is likely a Bing too, which is nice.

asking price is right at $700 which I feel is a bit much plus with the damage on the inside of the shell and lack of original pins hurts the value as well. If I could get it more reasonable I would be much more interested. Matt

The camo looks indeed ok, looking at the provided pictures. Nevertheless some close ups are needed...
If the price is $ 700 for this helmet, what do you gentlemen think would be the price for one with the original liner + cord and chinstrap...?

Has the green been touched up? If legit that price isnt crazy. The interior can be cleaned up without hurting the helmet. Nice camos seem to be on the rise once more, price wise.
