Nice helmet and bayo , the helmet looks familiar . I would hazzard a guess of $175 + for the bayo and $550 + for the helmet . Rob

This helmet looks VERY familiar.... just can't put my finger on it! I sold one identical to this with the front liner pad ripped exactly the same way. Only my helmet didn't have a chinstrap, NOR the tags affixed to the outside of the shell. That darn chinstap looks familiar also. I thought I had pictures stored, but cannot find them to prove this.

What I do know is this seller has been mentioned a few times on the USMF for putting stuff together and trying to sell as completely original. I wouldn't dump a lot of money on this one...

Thanks for the heads up. I've seen another with a similar ripped liner pad. So the verdict is out on this one.
If you could name that seller for me, I'd really appreciate it.
By the way, what did you sell yours for, if you don't mind my asking?

              And who do I believe?

As George Washington said when he found out about Benedict Arnold's betrayal, "Who can we trust?"

I emailed the seller with my concerns, based on the doubts I acquired here. He did not respond, so I pulled out of the sale. Wether those doubts were correct or not, I will not buy an item that is questionable. I've learned my lesson on a couple of small items. I'm not going to chance making the same mistake on an item that will cost me hundreds.

Lets start by saying the photos are not the best , I too have seen that chinstrap before somewhere and I dont know who is selling it . But if its all untouched ie paintwork is all still there and the liner has not been messed with and the chinstrap is a late war ersatz then $500 ish is about right , the bayo has the rare early leather and metal sheath . Other than that post clear photos . Cheers Rob

That helmet is on ebay right? Is someone else trying to sell it? Kinda hard to sell a helmet people are bidding on.

$500 is too steep for me right now anyway.

Yep ebay. Go bid, it's still there. Up to around $300, with a few hours to go.
