I was thinking about bidding cause I like that chin strap but kinda strapped.

That chinstrap looks very familiar doesn't it William? Could it be the twin brother of the one I sold you?

I just received this email from the seller:

"Hi steelhelmjim, no offense taken, some people think they are experts by looking at a couple ebay photos . The helmet is 100% original and the old label on the back of the helmet and chinstrap is 100% original to the helmet also. I bought this helmet from an 80 year old retired california Highway patrol man at a recent military show. He bought it this way and told me he had had it over 25 years. This helmet has not been for sale other then when I listed it this week. I offer to all my buyers a full refund minus shipping costs on any item I sell no matter what reason they don't like the item or just can't afford it any more. I hope this helps and thank you very much for your email."

It did@ But..... only because I was not bidding. It's the economy too and the market on WWI is dropping out slower then WWII.

I never saw anything wrong with the helmet for the record.

And yes Chuck that Chin strap is exactly like the one you sold me save for the bit of damage on the ebay hemet's chin strap.

i won this helmet, so i should have checked here first on the discussion about it before bidding on this helmet.
oh well ill have to wait and see when it gets here in the mail.

ill post better pics, and if its not a good helmet ill return it to the seller like the above post says that i can if not satisfied,

im hoping its a good one!!!!

ive been trying for a few months to get a nice helmet with at least a part liner and strap.

just have 3 ground dug relic condtion ones, and a fake camo painted one in my collection so this should be #1 helmet in collection if its good.

So far everyone seems to think it looks pretty good. But I'm sure they would still like to take a closer look.
You apparently got it for a good price as well. I didn't want to pay that much, even though around $500 seems to be the going rate.

finally got it

well the helmet finally showed up, man a week to mail it out, i pay the day auction ended with paypal and still did not mailout till wed of this week.
not the best shipping with that seller.
oh well on to the pics

from my quick look it looks like the chinstrap and fittings for the chinstrap were added on later. just my opinion but it looks that way.

as for the rest im no expert but i like the helmet..
what do you guys think keeper or get a refund..??
