1/ played with by children in a sandpit

2/ used in a garden shed as a mixing bowl for plant mix, dirt and water

3/ used in a garage to store oil covered nuts bolts and washers which had rusted over time

4/ used as a planter to grow a pot plant in which was regularly water up to the vent holes and hung from the ceiling.

Hopefully interesting and just shows how a state of good on the outside but not so good on the inside can happen. Personally I like the helmet which started this thread and its camo but someone some where put it to real use other than being in a war,

Yes I agree...I remember seeing one that was used as a planter, and one that had a hole drilled in the top that was used as a lampshade.

While it is true helmets with rusty insides and good condition outsides exist it's also true that more bad helmets exist with the situation as such then do good ones. I never said it is ALWAYS an indication of a bad helmet. It's very important to take note of the differing conditions whenever looking at any helmet.
