Thanks. I had the chance many years ago to acquire a reproduction of Richthofen's medal bar, made from real medals, on ebay. I still kick myself for not pulling the trigger, as it was very well made.

Yes, I know. I also followed that auction. Its base price was low by todays standards. That bar was assembled by Daniel Cole, and it is shown here on this thread ( color photo on the middle) he eventually broke the bar up and sold the pieces individually.

Here is my replication ( I have to mount them) all original pieces except.

RAO ( really hard to find)
      AH pilots badge
      Ribbon bar

That's the guy, and it was a super job he did, as evidenced by the photo in this thread. I've done a few modern medal bars for display purposes, and it isn't as easy as it looks.

One of the cups (No. 61) will be on the next auction of Hermann Historica

The medal displays shown above are replicas.

                  The problem is:

The selling silver cup it seems that is the same in the canadian war museum.

                  You see the photo here:

Yes, I remember in his autobiography he says that no silver could be gotten for his victory cups, so he stopped having them made.
Though I can't remember at which one.

I recall at least one of MvR's victory cups being auctioned off from the Norm Flayderman collection years ago. I do not know the provenance of that cup but recall it went above $5K USD.

                          Cups

His 61 victory cup, went very cheap for a very
important historical item. I can understand it might
be difficult to authenticate, but personal I like
it, and wish it was mine:-)
