    A Godet core 1870 ek1?

Hello everyone,I just saw an interesting 1870 ek1.It seems this cross have a Godet T2 core, but the cross shows no maker mark and the crown seems a little different from common example...Is this a good one?

My gut is saying that this is a 1914 Godet that has been "up graded"

As far as I know, we have never seen a "short 7" type date with the standard
style 1914 crown and "W". The frame and C catch appear to be Godet
however the hinge/pin assembly is not.

also, I do not like the bubbled look of the paint on the core. It reminds me
very much of the paint finish that we saw on the "small crown" or "stepped core"
fake Prinzens that were so common some years ago.

Thanks a lot for the patient explanation gregM! It is being sold at 2800 eur on a German website! The paint finish seems also different from typical 1870 which used the old method, you remind me that I saw a "9th-bead" fake with similar paint finish just sold in an auction this year.

BTW: Maybe the producer of these an "upgrade" fake use a 1914 core and change the"1914" as a model to made them?

Some of my friends tend to regard these fakes as later products, there are still many people purchase them
