I would appreciate help with the Bulgarian Order of St Alexander 3rd class - commander cross, awarded during WW1 to Prussian military (in 1916). I have two questions:
1. They appear to have white and green enamel, but I am uncertain if this difference in color was for to distinguish civil and military recipients, or if the color difference donated peacetime / wartime award dates?
2. I would imagine that military recipients would have had swords associated with the decoration, but I have seen swords in two different positions - within the cross and below the crown. Is this just a variation based on a different model of the award (early versus late) or was it again related to wartime / peacetime award dates?
Thanks in advance for your help.
