Likely a pocket watch chain. One of several types of patriotic iron trinkets and jewelry Germans could exchange their gold for to help the war effort.
The top piece says, "In the Time of Iron 1916". The one on the left (and presumably on the right) says, "Gold to defend - 1916 - Iron to honor".Last edited by Brian L.; 05-04-2018, 03:32 AM.

Slight correction: Gold for Defence, Iron for Honour.
