New EK 2 1914 makers mark discovered!

    Hi fellow collectors,

instead of identifiying some of the unknown maker marks of 1914 EKs I found a completely new one today. Ever seen the maker "KP"? The cross has got a well detailed and stamped iron core and a very broad silver frame.

I have been looking at the buggers for years and have not seen a "KP". Nice find!

Eric, Poellath is written "Carl Poellath" with "C". So we have another unknown one...

Actually Jens, there are two correct spellings to the name according to the archives of Schrobenhausen. Carl Poellath and Karl Pöllath. They even made items marked Carl Pöllath which would make some guys squeal. Have a look at this thread. So this could be a Karl Pöllath EK, but that is just a wild guess.

If I understand correctly--You are saying that this cross and the one
on the last page of the "Imperial fakes" thread posted by Paratrooper
                        have the same core????

These crosses are not the same. First compare the crowns. They are
                        similar but not identical----
