ccj here is the answer to your riddle: why 1915 version is rare?
The order FOR BRAVERY 3rd grade during WWI was mostly the seven dots version (the 7 dots were produced prior to WWI) so when the war came only very few of these 7 dots underwent jeweler's touch and the ring with the dots was replaced with one with the year 1915 (keep in mind that this grade was awarded to very senior officers from colonel upwards)!
The 1915 and 7dots you show earlier in the thread! Possibly there were produced TRUE 1915 versions, but if so they were very few, and it's hard to tell them apart!
