An odd question and in German (English please!).

Asking whether the men listed were German generals or Huguenots doesn't make any comparative sense. For one thing, von Arnaud de la Periere was in the navy, (not army) and only a Kapitänleutnant in WWI. However, Von Hutier and de Beaulieu were both army generals. All three men were also of Huguenot decent as are most Germans with French names.

What is the point of your question and why mention the 'Wehrmacht' which has nothing to do with this forum?

I meant to say 'generals, but Huguenots' not 'or Huguenots'. So? There were Germans of French decent in the German army. There were Germans of Polish decent as well French and English of German decent. Such was and is the nature of Europe.

The reason why an ancestor of Arnauld de la Perière come to Prussia you see here:

General Hermann von François, commander of German 8th Army, was Huguenot too.

During the Battle of Stalluponen and Gumbinnen, he faced 1st Russian Army, whose commander general Paul von Rennenkampf was of (Baltic) German descent.
