My guess is three Wagners and one Godet

You have some nice, original crosses there.

There is no way to know for sure who made the 1870 Ek2s.
The "short 7" cores attributed to Godet but have also been
            used by others (L. Lauer)

The award style cores were all cast at 2 foundries and Godet
and Wagner were known to share frames. So saying which is
Godet and which is Wagner is really impossible.

              hmmm interesting
my period info 1872 speaks of only one foundry during war time
that was the royal Berlin foundry

the A type core is surely the royal Berlin version of witch the stepped core is the earliest

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THE NAME OF SECOND foundry ,,and the source the evidence is coming from would be nice to .

              regards kay

I said "award STYLE" crosses. That includes those crosses made after
the Berlin foundry closed in 1873

I will try and find it again. It was something on the web that named
another foundry producing 1870 typeA style cores after the Royal Berlin
Foundry closed. I did not think to save a link to the thread.

I remember such a thing to ,,but so far I remember it was speculations,,,

on thing is 100% sure ,,,1872 there was no one else then the Berlin foundry .
and crosses being handed out on official occasions wile the jewelers in Berlin had no Iron cores to make Iron crosses . ( most likely also no frames )

                      regards kay
