Is this an Imperial Ersatz Sawback?

A gentleman recently contacted me wanting to sell a bayonet he found at a flea market. The photos below are of this piece.

It has a blade just like a 98/05 "butcher" blade bayonet, but has a somewhat crude metal grip and only what looks like an Imperial cypher on the ricasso. It has a partial muzzle ring and no curved quillion.

I was able to find two images similar to this on the web, but no information was listed on either.

It has no scabbard, but I believe I can acquire it for less than $100. I appreciate all input and opinions.

    Thank you in advance!

      Hello,

Yes, it is a wartime Ersatz saw-tooth. It's shown in Anthony Carter's book on German Ersatz Bayonets as #42. Even with the somewhat rough condition, it is a very nice bayonet.
