Don't know if you can read French or use a translation program, but here is the website I use for Imperial Russia. If you find it on there, let me know and I'll translate what it says for you.

              Masonic

Could there have been a St. Andrew's cross in the front that has been removed? It's very familiar with the later version of the St. Andrew's order-but it did not have a sword in it's talons.

If not, probably a Grand Lodge Master's badge for the Scottish Rite Masons-very big in Russia in the 1800s as the Czar was a fervent member.

                    Hi

I wont be able to get a pıc before I leave
Jeff may be on the rıght track as ıt came from Russıa.
I cannot emphasıze enough what hıgh qualıty ıt ıs. I would estımate ıt datıng 18XX from desıgn and qualıty. I would say court Jeweller qualıty, specıal fıtted case.
There are no mıssıng parts and ıt never had a banner or scroll.

Down sıde ıs,ıt would cost about USD800, the seller knows nothıng about medals so ıt would just be a wısh prıce of a sort.

Way out of my collectıng fıeld and I have no ıdea of value so I guess I wıll pass on buyıng. Wıll try for some photos though....
