Hi All,
I would like to show you my last piece from 2014 (too late, I know). It is a Bavarian Medal Bar from an Officer with the following condecorations:
Preußen: Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse 1914
Bayern: Militär Verdienst-Orden 4. Klasse mit Schwertern.
Deutschland: Frontkämpfer-Ehrenkreuz 1934
Bayern: Prinzregent Luitpold-Medaille in Bronze am Band der Jubiläumsmedaille
Bayern: Dienstauszeichnung 2.Klasse (12 Jahre)
Also, it comes with the original Feldspange with the same Orden and Medals without the Hindenburg one, with the MVO before the EK.
We can say that this person was an NCO in 1905 (2 related medals) but during the WWI was an Officer, hence the MVO.
The EK2 is a bigger one than the normal EK2 from WW1, so it would have been made after 1920. The MVO was made by Weiss & Co with center in Gold. This tells us that the Orden was made before 1917. As you can see, the enamel has a couple of damages.
And Finally, I would like to show you how my collection looks like now… I hope in the next few days I receive my new MVO 4. Klasse mit Schwertern from Leser in Silver 980.
Best regards
Antonio
