    Manstein Spange

    Fellow Members,

Attached is a photo of Field Marshall Manstein wearing a spange (or is it a woven design) on his EKII ribbon.

Would anyone be able to identify the spange?

    As always, thanking in advance.

    Regards ...

It isn't an EKII ribbon (well, technically it is). It is the Royal House Order of Hohenzollern, Knight's Cross with Swords. Like most Prussian decorations, military awards were worn on the Iron Cross ribbon:

Manstein, a very capable Field Marshal to say the least. I wonder what his full list of decorations included?
      Thanks,
